NY Penn platform prediction
How this works
NJ Transit posts the track about ten minutes before departure and the crowd stampedes. Each platform serves a pair of tracks (1/2, 3/4 …), so if you know the platform you can be at the right stairs before the crowd. njt.live predicts the platform for every departure from what each train has done over the last 30 days combined with what is happening at the station right now; when the picture is clear enough it names the exact track (Firm). Every prediction is scored afterwards against the track the train actually left from — the numbers below are that record, not a promise.

Three tiers. Firm names the exact track. Likely is the most common platform (track pair) over the train's runs in the last 30 days when it was used in at least half of 3+ runs (green where it left from there in 75% of them, amber below). Guess is the same figure with too few runs or no clear favourite (dashed). Within 15 minutes of departure the tracks in use count too: a track posted for another train is all but ruled out, one a train left in the last 10 minutes is unlikely, and the best-scoring platform is shown instead (marked usual N taken).
